French beans
Hi
I have a few dwarf french beans that are about a foot high now. They have a few slug attach marks. My peas have flowers on and i have already had a couple of pods but i can't see any signs of any beans.
Where do the beans come from? do they get flowers that then grow the beans? It is my first time growing them and i don't know what i'm looking for for the first signs of beans?

Beans and peas are the seed pods that grow after the flowers are fertilized by insects. If you look closely at the flowers as they appear to be dying and about to fall off and you will see tiny bean pods.
Pick them regularly and you will get more flowers. If you allow the beans to get too mature (large beans in the pod) the plant will think it has done it's job and not produce anymore flowers.
This is the case with a lot of veggies that we grow. Keep picking to make the plant produce more.

We also have dwarf french beans. You will get small white flowers, if your plants are about a foot high then it shouldn't be too long at all before you see the first flowers appearing."Your life is what your thoughts make it"
