Has anyone got a corner fireplace?

I'm looking at a house with a corner fireplace in the living room, it will probably have a multifuel stove eventually, though maybe just an open fire. However, I can't see how you would place furniture round it to be cosy. I've looked at photos on Google but none of them look snuggly and cosy as I would want - the focus of the room around which the family can gather and relax. It's a converted barn, though sadly without those lovely big barn door windows, and I definitely want an old style cottage/farmhouse look and one that is planned for winter rather than summer.
I found something that said Wren was in favour, but families rejected corner fireplaces as they couldn't find a way to comfortably gather round them! So not just me. Has anyone got a corner fireplace or can give me some creative ideas for layout of furniture to get that cosy look I want?
Thanks
Liz

Had a corner fireplace as a child. We had no problem 'snuggling' around it to get warm. It was the only source of heat.0
