Wedding Bubbly Booze Suggestions?

Hiya

Does anyone have any suggestions for bulk buying bubbly booze? I'm looking for approx 80 bottles but cant seem to find a systematic way of looking - im just dipping in and out of websites at the mo. Plenty of people must have done this already... so i would love to hear how you went about it?

Thanks thanks

have you looked at Tesco or Marks and Sparks online?

they sometimes have offers on buying x amount of wine, so you might be able to get a good deal. I would imagine they might even have some half price offers coming up for summer.

Also try looking at some of the wine clubs online - again you might manage to get some good offers.

Do offies still do sale or return? maybe another option.

Also ask your venue (if they have a bar!) The venue we wants offers bubbly, for £2 cheaper per bottle than the same stuff in Tesco!
  • How about this 1 from asda its very MSE at £2.76 for a magnum (1.5l) you can buy plenty, their really nice even i was impressed and at the price you can sure sample it before your big day!!! Hehe!!!

Maybe try smaller shops that would have to order it in for you and negotiate a discount as you are buying so many, if they're buying it for say £10 a bottle and knocking it out at £15-20 they might give you say 10 free as they have made so much profit anyway, got to be worth a shot.
Or if you're unsure about the quantity majestic do a sale or return

Don't know if this helps at all but we're going for Martini Asti instead of "proper" champagne, imo it tastes nicer anyway and it's only about £6 a bottle!

Just got an email last night that Tesco is 25% off if you order over 6 bottles, on all wines and champers. Thats quite a healthy discount!

They're all pretty much made the same way it's just because the grapes in champagne come from the champagne region, same way greggs can't have cornish pasties, they're meat and potato, for want of a better example - lots of cheeses are the same.

We're having cava at £4 a bottle - we prefer it anyway.
Another thought, use cider, I think the mega expensive champagnes taste like it anyway :rotfl:

Haha I didn't realise that, good to know someone else is doing the same as us and buying cheap bubbly! It's not like the guests would be offended anyway, if they know you have a small budget then it would be in incredibly bad taste to complain.

We're allocating some of the booze budget though to buy some Cuban cigars for the groom and the best men :D will make a great photo opportunity!
