arrhhh tax credits do my head in.

please help me get my head around this,
i am going back to work in 2 weeks time - we are a couple with 2 kids 18 months/3 yrs (i havent been working since 18 month was born as made redendant whilst on mat leave- im going back as i need to keep sane !!!) anyway we currently get 130.00 a month ctc. This is based on this yrs income figures for our earnings well my husbands as upto now i havent earnt anything, when i go back to work ctc will increase even though i will give them extra income details as i will now get help with nursery fee's. (fine i get all that) next year at renewal time i will confirm my figures for 2010/11 income which is what my award will be based on for 11/12??? if my thinking is right i will earn more 2011/2012 as i will have a full years earnings not 8 months like 2010/11? by about 2k so would i then have been overpaid?????

very confused as i dont understand how anyone can ever be over paid if they always use the previous yrs income figures????

I believe you can tell them the 8 months pay you get for this year then at renewal time tell them to base your claim on what you will actually get in 2011/2012. I do this to try and avoid overpayments as much as possible.
