no disc in the drive

since transferring some pics using the camera memory card as the usb connector was playing up whenever we boot the pc we get a windows error message that reads

'there is no disc in the drive'

however windows has loaded and this appears on the desktop. click it 4 or 5 times and it vanishes and everything works ok.

has anyone got any idea what is going on or how to fix it?

not sure what drive it is trying to read but the memory card slot is drive h.

sometimes i get this message if my usb memory stick is left plugged in when i turn my pc on, it tries to boot from the usb or soemthing silly like that.

and if thats not the case then there might be an old start up program trying to finish install or run that no longer has its files(been uninstalled or its instalation disk removed)

try starting up with no usb memory attached see if you still get the error message if you do then try a startup inspector to see if there are any things starting up that dont need to.
