filling in tax credit claim form

i'm a little confused about filling in the tax credits claim form. i have stopped my single claim and am starting a new joint claim for working and child tax. my partner works, i'm a stay at home mum.
im just trying to fill in the bit about last years earnings. ive filled in my partners earnings as he was working, but i cant find anywhere that im supposed to say i was on income support last year or what my income was as a result of that. does it come under a taxable social security benefit or do they simply not need that information from me?
i've tried ringing but everytime i try i just get put on hold for what seems like an eternity and give up.

If your only income last year was income support leave your income section blank. It's non taxable so not taken into account as income, they only need to know about it if you are currently receiving it.0
