Supermarkets from Newry to Lisburn

I have been to Sainsburys in Newry and Lisburn a couple of times, but not since July of last year. I want to do a run again to stock up the cupboards, but am wondering if there are any options other than those 2? Especially for value.
I like the Sains basics range, and we do get a good few of the higher level own brands too there, as well as branded goods. I am mainly thinking about Asda I think, as I detest Tesco. Or anywhere else that is good value for storecupboard goods.
Any help?

Theres is a big Tescos in Lisburn itself, which is quite good, just follow signs for International Airport. There is an Asda on Kennedy Way, which is just off the M1 heading into Belfast. Both represent better value than Sainsburys generally.0

There is a new Asda opened beside Junction 1 in Antrim. Its very good value and their basic range is grand.0

There is a Lidl www.lidl.ie in Newry (near the Tourist Information Office/Bagenal's Castle). There is also a Lidl in Banbridge. The Lidl website will let you pick prices in their northern stores, and also show you what is on offer. Banbridge has a big Tesco with petrol station which is right by the A1 and not far from the Outlet Centre. Rather out of your way, but there is an Asda in Kilkeel but it is a very scenic route, and also an Asda in Downpatrick if you fancy having a look at St.Patrick's tomb.
Newry also has a SuperValu on Hill Street, also a couple of Dunnes. For bargains I would recommend not bothering with those!
If you would like directions etc to Banbridge's Lidl and/or Tesco let me know and I'll put them on here later.0 -
There is an Asda on Kennedy Way..... don't know what prices are like a I personally don't like Asda... and about quarter of a mile beyond there is a new[ish] Sainsburys at Kennedy Centre. In giving

So Antrim has moved to between Newry and Lisburn? ;-)0 -
I probably should have said I'd be heading from Dublin and know the M1 as far as Belfast (although I've only personally driven it as far as Lisburn). If it's not complicated, I am happy to go elsewhere if it's worth it - and I always like a (little) adventure! Going as far as Belfast isn't really an option as I have to be back to Dublin in time for creche collection (so no later than 6pm), but Lisburn was doable the last time. If I stop in Banbridge- Lisburn is not so doable

How would one get to Antrim from the M1 (or Dublin on a different route)?
Thanks for the ideas though. And I never thought of Lidl either - I tend to get a fairt bit from them so a check on prices could be worthwhile.GC 2010 €6,000/ €5,897

Head onto the MI at Sprucefield, come off at Moira Roundabout, head towards International Airport, straight through Nutts Corner Roundabout still heading to Airport then through next Roundabout, after a few miles your in Antrim Town. About 25 mins from Lisburn and you pass my road too lol0 -
Thanks all - will ponder it some more and perhaps have a mini-adventure for myself!!GC 2010 €6,000/ €5,897

I buy online from sainsburys for home delivery and it's probably not an option if you live in Dublin but you could look on their webiste.
Rather than trying to find deals when you get there you can just select their special offers, bogof, and 3 for 2 etc. Might save you some time and I often find deals I would never have seen if in the store.
Not sure but maybe there is an option to print off a list of offers.0
