Vet costs for dog surgery?

Does anyone have any idea how much a vet charges to remove an adenoma from a dogs backside, I know it does not involve an overnight stay.
I know it is a long shot but any help/info much appreciated.

I think you should ring the vets in your area to find out. Costs will vary over the country. Poor dog though, dont hang about.
Are you on any benefits that woudl qualify you for RSPCA, Blue Cross or PDSA?0 -
When TJ had his op (2 years ago now) with all the follow ups and lab work it came in at around £700.
As hethmar said please dont hang around. We were very lucky it was caught quick, stage 0/1. so PLEASE PLEASE get it sorted as soon as you can, these nasty things grow very fast.
TJ`s looked like a tiny sore spot on the outside but inside was a different matter. As I said we were lucky.
Good luck Chris n TJ xxRIP TJ. You my be gone, but never forgotten. Always in our hearts xxxHe is your friend, your partner, your defender, your dog.You are his life, his love, his leader. He will be yours, faithful and true, to the last beat of his heart. You owe it to him to be worthy of such devotion.0 -
Please get this checked out asap, as my last dog had a tiny bleeding bump on his bum and it turned out to be an aggressive cancer, which had already spread (really not trying to scare you, but best to get things like this sorted out as quickly as possible.)
Dont know about the cost, as we chose not to have surgery, as the cancer was already at an advanced stage and he was oldish with other health problems.
If your worried about the cost, consider the pdsa, will your vet offer a payment plan, is there anything you can sell etc, but please get this seen too.0 -

loulou that sounds the same as TJ`s melanoma. We were really so lucky. The Vet saw it on the tuesday and it was dealt with on the thursday. ( my boy was only 3 ) It was the nasty type but it was caught and dealt with so fast.
The worse time was the 50 weeks wait for the all clear. (TJ is nearly 6 now)
Like you said beg steal or borrow, worry about the cost later.

Really pleased TJ had a happy endingscary though isnt it that something that looks so small can be something so bad-we only noticed the one on our dogs bum, as my mum caught it on her watch picking him up one day, he'd shown no symptoms of ill health at all.

Same as us really, beacause TJ is white we just noticed what we thought was a spot, but it wouldnt heal.
TJ wasnt ill or anything he just started rubbing his bun on the rug the day we found the dam thing.
Our Vet said we were very lucky as most wouldnt have even noticed it, it was that small to the eye. (Lol I dont go sticking my face in his bum often) But being white I hate to see a dirty bum lol so he gets it cleaned if need be.
TJ was fine after his op, no lasting ill effects at all. But you will drive yourself mad looking for things that are not there. Trust me I saw a speck of dust and freaked out.
Loulou how old is your boy? and is he pale skinned?
I hope you have a good outcome, please keep us informed wont you.

Feel abit bad answering your question, as we had to have him put to sleep - dont think my post was very clear, so please dont feel bad!
We didnt have the op as he was 10 when we found out he had cancer and he also had problems with his hips and cruciate ligament in his knee. We chose pallative care for him and the vets gave him a maximum of 6 months to live, but he kept going for 17 months (would like to make it clear to others, that we didnt hold onto him at any cost etc, we let him go as soon as he showed any pain-he even walked himself to the vets on his last day, in case that sounded like i kept him going for 17 months suffering.)
He was mostly white with pale skin, but did have black patches where the skin was black underneath!0 -

I think im right in saying that most (maybe all) of this particular cancer occur in "entire" male dogs - think its something to do with the hormones.
I know when we found the one on my dog, the 1st thing the vets did was to book him in for the chop the next morning (as they hoped that this would slow down the spread), our vet wouldnt do the chemical version, not sure why as it was nerve wracking putting a 10 year old dog through a general.
Hope everything goes well with your doggie, let us know how he gets on0 -

Well I cant comment on that one because TJ had been neutered at a young age.( I believe in getting all my animals neutered/spayed ASAP.) But it would be good to hear from others so we can see if there is a link of sorts.
