Hi
I had a Phillips freeview DVD recorder with a 160GB hard drive and a 1080 (HD) upscaling. It had to go back, intermittent fault apart from other things. So I am looking to buy another one not sure what make to buy, opinions welcome  Thanks.

Look for Humax PVR
If your Phillips freeview DVD had a PVR, and the HD-Humax has a PVR I fail to see why you need a DVD recording function.Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion. It's really handy to be able to archive important stuff to DVD. I'd recommend something like this (I have one similar) and I also have Sky+ HD.0 -

Whatever ' floats your boat ', but that doubles the price from £200 to £400.
Is it just me in my dotage that can not grasp why anyone, in an age where you can instantly re-watch any TV prog in high definition via your puter which is plugged into your 60" tele would want to burn to an old fasioned disk ?Disclaimer : Everything I write on this forum is my opinion.
