Wed 23rd June - What small DFW things have you done today?!

When we start out on the DFW trail we do loads of "big stuff" that makes quite a difference to our situation. These include having our lightbulb moment, cutting up the credit cards and cancelling Sky and the gym.
But once we have done the bigger stuff, we often feel that we are not making the same amount of progress, when in fact the small steps are helping us form good financial habits and helping us get closer everyday to staying in control and becoming debt free, or staying debt free :money:
Examples could be charging your phone up at work instead of at home to save your electricity, hanging washing out instead of using the tumble dryer or leaving your purse/wallet at home to avoid the risk of spending.
So be proud of those small steps, they really are important
:D
Good morning people....another lovely sunny one here (you got any sun yet Fay?:o)
Just another school meeting for me this evening, not doing anything today, am still shattered....booo;)
So....big hellos to you all...regulars and new posters!:hello:
Ok, here's my list:

We have no idea!!!! They've just told them it's Dorset....so helpful that school;) So, a lovely day for her...and my 11yr old is in the Isle of Wight on her week-long trip and I'm sure it's beautiful there too. Just me stuck at home! Luckily it's a lovely day here in Bath too:TI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
I've just applied online - and been accepted - for an Asda credit card, as you get free delivery of groceries for an over £99 spend, also they give some sort of points out, so thought I do my online shop usually with them each month, so now I can have free delivery:T
(I just need the card NOW though as want some food)
I also bought a 2nd freezer yesterday which is being delivered on Fri - going to swit it in the corner of the kitchen/diner, next to desk. We only have a tall fridge/freezer with teeny freezer section...so I'm quite excited about being able to stock up my freezer - will actually have room to freeze bread/rolls now - so handy:D
Ok, I now need to step away from the PC and stop spending:rotfl:I really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
Wow, what beautiful weather again today here in the West Mids.
Here goes:- Have switched to Tesco Value Bran Flakes for breakfast, they're not much different.
- Lunch and tea from stores.
- Aiming for another no spend day.
- Aiming for another no drive day.
- Watching the England match in my front room rather than at a drinking establishment.
- Maybe the odd alcoholic bevarage from stores!
- Check all accounts.
- Get a bit green fingered!

Hello early birds! Arrrgggghhhh the insomnia is getting the better of me - 1am last time I looked at the clock and up again at 6! Its getting harder and harder to get up!
Milly omg why don't I know about free delivery over £99 with asda cc???? I have one and pay it off each month, use it mainly for petrol as you get 1p off per litre and have another cashback cc that is more "generous" (stretch of the word there!) but I think I may look into doing a monthly online with Asda & doing the rest at Aldi/Lidl/farmers market... Can I ask how much you paid for your chest freezer?
Josie how was your first night as a single woman in your home?
Ok better get cracking as have lots to do at work:- [STRIKE]drive carefully to and from work[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]update GC figures[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]read martin's email [/STRIKE]- am debating whether to go for the AA breakdown, although haven't heard the greatest things about them but on the other hand its cheap as chips
- [STRIKE]left overs for lunch[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]dinner from plan[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]pay into bank colleagues money for tobacco[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]wrap the blimming ebay parcel & post[/STRIKE]
- water plants later
- repot blimming tomatoe plants
- pay BG bil
- [STRIKE]contact CSA[/STRIKE] & ds' gym to change bank
- [STRIKE]low spend day (only milk)[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]shred loads of old letters[/STRIKE]
- do some prep of spare room for student on Sunday
- [STRIKE]check banking[/STRIKE]
- [STRIKE]transfer £30 cashback for changing utilities into savings account :j[/STRIKE]

I bought the freezer from Currys....it was £119.99 with free delivery (as opposed to Argos charging £6;)), went thro' Quidco for £3.70ish cashback. It's not a chest freezer, it's like an under-counter one with 3 drawers, just right for us to have more stuff rozen. It always annoys me that I can't have bread/milk frozen as my current freezer not very big and is crammed already!! So...it is money-saving by buying it, I can buy more reduced bits to freezer. Always handy to have bread/rolls etc frozen in case we run out...as happens a lot:rotfl:
Pleased with the Asda cc....I'll just use it for groceries and pay off using my grocery budget each month...genius:T:T:TI really need to sort out a new signature!0 -
