Olive trees are quite slow growing. We have 2, one which we brought back from South West France and it hasn't grown massively in 3 years. The man we bought it from was very dismissive of the idea that it would survive in England, let alone bear fruit and yet it has another massive crop of olives this year! It's so nice to be able to offer olives around Christmas time which we have grown and brined ourselves. Friends of ours have a very small tree (probably about 2' tall) but it is producing olives this year, too.

    Enjoy your trees!

Well you are very lucky, I have just been listening to Gardener's Question Time on radio 4, and Bob Flowerdew [expert gardener] has grown olive trees for over 25 years in Norfolk, and never had a crop

Maybe you should contact him ;)

  • I bought one of these too and when it arrived it was in a black plastic pot in like a see through green plastic housing which i may use as a make shift propagator for my broccoli :D

It came with an A4 piece of paper detailing how to look after it.
I was very impressed with the whole delivery thing

So far its doing really well, just fingers crossed it stays this way:T:T
  • Mine arrived yesterday less than a week since I ordered it. Came securely packed so no damage in transit. I repotted it into a small terracotta pot, popped in a SR fertilizer cube, and hopefully it will grow a little before it needs to be brought in out of the frost come the Autumn (ooh perish the thought!!)
