Terms and conditions:

1. Synopsis
   
   The objective of the game is to help O2 clear the UK of home broadband niggles and narks. In return players will earn points for niggles successful caught and reported to O2. Points make prizes.
2. General notes
   1. The game makes use of the niggle and nark characters. Within these instructions both characters are referred to as niggles.
   2. The position of O2 stores in game are based on actual geographical locations of O2 stores. As the Google maps application is not 100% accurate with their longitude and latitude there may be marginal error.
   3. The competition runs from 9am on Tuesday 1st June until 5pm on Friday 16th July.
3. Play
   1. Nationwide view
      1. From the nationwide view of the UK players can rollover different regions to gauge the outbreak of niggles in the area.
      2. The number of niggles in each region, together with the time allocated to catch them, determines the level of difficulty of each region.
      3. Players select a region and the application moves into hunt mode.
   2. Hunt Mode
      1. Players hunt for Niggles on a top down map, using their mouse to control the hand, they are tasked with capturing fleeing niggles.
      2. Players have a minimum of 15 seconds to catch as many niggles as possible before moving onto throwing stage of the game (explained in ‘Throw Mode’ section).
      3. Every time a player captures a niggle they are awarded additional play time. Additional play time is determined by the difficulty of the region. Easy – 5 additional seconds, medium – 3 seconds and hard – 2 additional seconds per niggle caught.
      4. Arrows on the map offer an indication of where the niggles are running around. Niggles may run off the map if you do not reach them quickly enough, in this instance you have to follow the arrows to find more.
      5. When a player encounters a niggle they must slap down on it with the hand (the mouse offers slap functionality – simply by clicking on top of the niggle).
      6. When a Player has caught all niggles in the region or their time has run out, they are forced into throwing mode. Throw mode is essentially the player reporting niggles to an O2 store, also known as nobbling.
      7. Players can pause whilst playing in hunt mode in any region. However should a player choose to exit hunt mode for any reason all niggles will be set free within the region they are playing. Players are able to come back and conquer that region at a later date, as long as they have not advanced to throw mode.
      8. Players must complete every region to compete the game, however the players daily score will still be recorded even if the player does not complete the game but does complete one region or more.
   3. Throw Mode
      1. Players are forced into throw mode after all of their time has run out or they have captured all of the niggles in the region.
      2. Once in throw mode the player can choose from between 1 and 3 O2 stores to report the niggles to. Players are encouraged to scan around to look for stores.
      3. The distance between the player and O2 store determines both the difficulty and the score of throw.
      4. If the player manages to successfully hit a store with a niggle points are awarded depending on how accurate the throw.
      5. Players can continue to throw niggles until their cage is empty.
      6. Once you have thrown all the niggles and the players cage is empty they return to the UK map view.
      7. The UK map will display how successfully you “nobbled” the niggles for the regions that have been completed. E.g. 10 out of 15 niggles nobbled in Liverpool.
      8. If a player chooses to exit the throw mode before throwing all niggles in the cage the system will log their current score for that region and any remaining niggles in the cage will be forfeited. The player will not be able to replay that region.
4. Traps
   1. Traps are designed to help the player hinder their friend’s (anyone that is the player’s friend on facebook can receive a trap) game play and ultimately force them down the leader board.
   2. There are three different types of traps. Each trap causes a restriction to a player’s experience during Hunt Mode. The traps consist of:
      1. Niggle NRG Drink – speeds up the niggles, making them harder to catch.
      2. Skeleton Key – Frees all of the niggles in the players cage, meaning that they have to be re-caught.
      3. Invisible Niggle – Makes the niggles invisible for 5 seconds.
   3. A Player may set 5 traps per day. Only one trap per friend per day.

[*]Prizes

1. Every day for the duration of the campaign the top ten players with the highest score will be entered into a draw. One of the top ten high scorers will be selected to win £250 worth of Amazon vouchers.
2. Scores are cumulative; players can complete all regions, essentially completing the game and have a top score of 2000 points. The player can then go back and play the game again (not necessarily to completion) and get an additional score of 300 points – both scores will be added together making the total score for the day 2300 points. Daily point scores are reset at the start of everyday
3. Players may only win one daily prize within the competition period.
4. At the end of the campaign the top ten players with the highest scores in the overall leaderbaord will be entered into a draw for one of them to win a VIP safari for 2 people to South Africa. (approximate value: £4,000). The overall scores are the cumulative scores from every time a player plays the game.
5. The overall winner will be notified no later than Thursday 29th July 2010 and will receive the VIP Safari hunt prize.The safari to Africa for two must be taken on 16th October 2010.

1. Overall leaderboard
   1. Displays top-ten highest daily scores that have been registered in the competition period.
   2. Dynamically updated every hour.
2. Daily leaderboard
   1. Displays top ten players since start of day (00:00), based on their cumulative score.
   2. Dynamically updated every hour.
   3. The winner’s details will be accessible via admin area, to allow for prize fulfilment.
3. Friends leaderboard
   1. Displays the scores of player’s facebook friends who are also playing the game.
   2. Dynamically updated every hour.

[*]Dealing with cheaters

1. Players will be flagged if their game log violates any of the conditions below:
   1. Players game sessions are completed in a suspiciously short amount of time.
   2. Players are engaging with the game in high succession in a short amount of time using the same IP address
   3. Players scores are registering the same score for multiple game sessions for both regional and complete games
   4. Players throwing distance is unachievable (when in throw mode)
   5. Players IP address varies between game sessions.
   6. Player IP address hidden
2. If player is flagged by any of the above criteria they will be contacted and removed from the Global and Daily Leaderboard.

I've been playing this over the week on and off but my partner is at work today - I was on the leaderboard for Thursday or Friday (I forget) but didn't win the 250 Going to try again today, a 1 in 10 chance is great in my opinion

I was 6th yesterday and 8ths thursday and also havent heard any thing! The odds are better than 1 in 10 as you can only win a daily prize once - 4 of yesterdays top 10 had already won!

Think im 4th at the moment today! REALLY want this one! My daughters birthday next month I could spoil her rotten!

Those of you having difficulties try clearings cookies/ history etc - failing that try and accept the application on a friends PC/ laptop. I had the problem 1st time i tried but sorted it out! It is a very glitchy game that likes to crash my mac a few times a day (i think when the scores are being changed on the leader board)
