Hi there,
I have the dream to reinstate a soild-fuel burning fire in our lounge, and made an impulse buy of a cast iron reproduction fireplace front complete with tiles... However in my haste I didn't think about what else I need to go with it!:rotfl:
Anyone have any experience of installing a solid-fuel fireplace? What else do I need? And any recommendations of suppliers etc... I literally just have the front!!
Any help much appreciated :-)

Hi Carys,
Plenty of helpful info online for you, get searching. In the meantime a fireback will be helpful. Judging by your name I'm assume you're in wales somewhere......... if so can recommend someone to clear your chimney etc. I fitted mine myself but know he fits fireplaces........0 -
The Solid Fuel Association (http://www.solidfuel.co.uk) produce a range of leaflets about installing or renovating fireplaces. Most of them can be downloaded from the website. If not, then they will send them to you if you ring them up.0

Fraid we've relocated to the North... Aberdeen area, but if you know of anyone up here please let me know! Thanks for the advice on the fireback, that was the direction I was going in but wasn't sure it was the right one!0 -
