in Credit cards
have a Lloyds TSB card which took over, a year or so ago, from the Texaco card which I only used for the low interest rate, to pay off an existing debt.
I now have a balance of £1750 and have never spent on this card.
I have had a letter today saying that my monthly interest rate for purchases will now be 1.140% (14.880% Simple Annual) and 2.075% on cash advances (24.90% Annual).
I am not very good at keeping on top of admin as I have a busy family life and am also a full time teacher (!!). So, I guess I would make a rubbish 'credit card tart'.
Can anyone tell me if there is a card offering better than I am getting on this Lloyds TSB card?
I have a Barclaycard Platinium for spending only, as it offers me 6.9% purchase annual rate. It is just this exisiting debt I want the best deal for. Any suggestions?
Thanks
Jazz

If your talking about transferring to another card have a look at the Post Office card which has 6 months 0% interest free and no transfer fee0

Hi Jazz
I'll go with that.
Almost any card actually will be better than the rate Lloyds TSB is now quoting!
I've answered this for you on the Best Balance Transfers sticky.
Cheers

Thanks,
But even at 0% I wont pay £1700 off in a year - what does it go up to after its offer has run out?
Would I be better to change to one tha starts low and stays low?

Only you can answer this question.
For 0% balance transfer options with no handling fees, please see #70 on the balance transfer sticky where you first posted this enquiry.
If you would prefer not to switch to another 0% balance transfer card in 6-9 months time, consider a card offering a low life-of-balance rate and move your Lloyds TSB debt there. For instance, the Halifax Flat Rate card will charge you 5.94% until the LTSB balance is cleared.
Caution: as with 0% balance transfer cards, any retail purchases made will sit on your monthly statements accruing interest at the standard rate until the 5.94% Lloyds TSB balance is paid off!People who don't know their rights, don't actually have those rights.0 -
wahey!
just transferred £3300 (+2.5% fee  ) to LLoyds advance card - @5.5% for life of balance - from Virgin (15.9%!!!) that's a massive 10.4% less!
have no intention of using the card...will be cutting it up on receipt!!:D
