I believe it varies across different parts of the country, and according to the setting those with a mechanical timer on their meter have set.

In the East Midlands, when I had E7 the cheap rate units were from 1:00 am to 8:00am all year round, controlled by a radio teleswitch.
That gum you like is coming back in style.

Yes it was with Powergen, cannot see why or how it would be any different with another supplier. Only the price varies regionally as far as I know.
Give Southern Electric(Ebico's supplier) a call, I'm sure they will clarify this.

    Hi, Alared,
My times are stamped on the meter. Half past Midnight to O730am, tho faulty by 10 minutes.Radio controlled for when the clocks alter.
Same meter as when I was with Powergen.

Although no longer on E7 I still have the mechanical meter*and like Ken above my hours are 12:30am to 7:30am.

    * My bill still shows the E7 metered units and 'normal' metered units - but they add them together and they all get treated as 'normal' units.

However my clock is 90 minutes slow so the meters change over at 2am and 9am.

    THANKS everyone
Checked with Southern who say 12-30am to 7-30 am BST.
    11-30pm to 6-30am GMT.
(can`t really see why the hours should change)
I have a radio controlled meter which seems to be spot on.
I`ll just have to check the time button on the meter when I change to EBICo
