Hope someone can help please. :A I have a Google redirect problem, which kind of comes and goes. :( I only have it in Firefox as Google in IE appears to work fine.

I had a virus last week as well which was redirecting my online banking to a dodgy site :eek::eek: but I *think* I have got rid of it.

Would appreciate any help, thanks!

Can you post the log(s) which found the bad virus etcetera so one knows what kind of thing we are dealing with?
If from malwarebytes if you look under the Logs and copy logs for all the relevant dates.

Actually the last one may be important to delete - not quite sure so hope someone else will comment! But please post the logs in the meantime.

It wasn't Malwarebytes that found it, the only thing to find it was Bullguard!

I'll see if I can find a scan somewhere for it, but I did write down the name of the virus, it was gotnewupdate(1).exe, if that's any use?

Sorry, do you mean the last one as in the gamingmonitor one, or the other one (BAD one!)?

And why is it so bad? (sorry I am blonde! :o)

Thanks so much for your help BTW :A:T

Please tick and fix these if you haven't already.

The last one is bad as it got flagged as nasty. A helpful note to others who will no doubt takeover. In the meantime, I'd advise not to use internet banking until someone more knowledgable can say your computer is safe.

Also please post the logs from previous scans when things have been found.

This is what I am getting now, I don't think it's deleted the things I've tried to fix?

The last one is bad as it got flagged as nasty. A helpful note to others who will no doubt takeover. In the meantime, I'd advise not to use internet banking until someone more knowledgable can say your computer is safe.

Also please post the logs from previous scans when things have been found.
Thanks. Yeah, I haven't been using online banking since the virus. :(

I'm finding it hard to post previous logs as the ones I have aren't showing anything, and I can't find an old log thing on Bullguard.

(SEE POST #14 before running combofix)

    run LSPFIX
    http://www.cexx.org/LSPFix.exe

    ...................................................................

    Download HostsXpert
    http://www.softpedia.com/progDownload/Hoster-Download-27041.html
and then follow the below steps.

    * Unzip HostsXpert.zip
    * It will create a folder named HostsXpert in whatever folder you extract it to.
    * Run HostsXpert.exe by double clicking on it.
    * click the Make Writeable? button.
    * click Restore Microsoft's Hosts File and then click OK.
    * Click the X to exit the program

    ..................................................................................

    Please run COMBOFIX
    http://download.bleepingcomputer.com/sUBs/ComboFix.exe
    Shut down your anti virus
Follow the simple instructions it gives
Post the COMPLETE log it creates here (Split into sections if need be) ~ if there are loads of 'SNAPSHOT' pages then leave them out

If it comes up with a RENAMING error then RIGHT click the exe file and RENAME and call it QWERTY (Making the complete file name 'QWERTY.exe') Or SAVE as 'QWERTY' on download
(If no log comes up or you lose it, COMBOFIX.TXT can be found in C drive)
