Anyone used this firm for PPI claim

Hi, I am currently awaiting news on a PPI claim against Paragon finance and am availing of the services of a Solicitors firm called Taylor Hollingshead in Crewe. The claim has been with them for nearly 2 years now and at the start there was plenty of correspondance from them but over the last year I have heard very little from them with nothing by way of update. I have called on numerous occassions with my calls being returned but with very little information. So to date i am still none the wiser how my case is progressing.

Has anyone dealt with this Solicitors firm before or indeed with a PPI claim from Paragon? If so any assistance would be greatly appreciated as i feel i am now being strung along!

It hasnt got that far yet Andy. As far as I am aware Taylor Hollingshead had informed my wife that they were looking into whether the case could be heard within their jurisdiction as we live in NI but that it shouldnt be to much of a problem and that the courts were moving very slowly with PPI claims as there were so many of them. We then forwarded proof of the full amount of insurance that was paid when the loan was repaid to the solicitors and were told that, that would speed things up but to date I have heard nothing further ,the last contact being approximately 4 months ago. They are not particularly informative !!

i would call them up and request all documentation that they have received and sent. You could have done it yourself with the templates from here but i assume you signed a client agreement. Its worth asking the solicitor if it is possible to cancel the agreement as your unhappy with the progress.

I will try them again soon, just interested to see if anyone else had dealt with the same firm and dont want to start threatening them with the law society just yet
  • Its now August 2011 and my PPI is still not resolved. My Wife last spoke to Taylor Hollingshead in March and they informed her that because there was a broker involved that has now stopped trading they could not progress the claim. They were informed that on advice from the lender Paragon that a loan would not be provided unless myself or my wife took the payment protection but their correspondence is still non existent and I have a sneaking suspicion that they have let the case go statute barred. Claim was started in Sept 2008, loan was from 2004-2007 so I was advised that this should have fell within the applicable dates for claiming. Anyone any thoughts on this? I'm pretty aggrieved at the mo due to the fact when I remortgaged I paid £9000 payment protection back to Paragon for protection that should have lasted 20years but only did for 3 and I have no claim even on this. Taylor Hollingshead stated that they would have to prove a breach of fiduciary duty on Paragons part and that ,that could be extremely problematic. Again anyone any thoughts or previous experience of similar?

Would really appreciate some help on this one peeps feel like i've been totally had:(
