I bought my dress 3 weeks ago for a January 2012 wedding! I tried it on and I knew it was 'the one' and that was it. One piece of advice I was given is not to keep looking at it as apparently you go off it so mine is at a friends house (who is a witness of ours at the wedding as I'm not having BMs only flowergirls).

If it's right then go for it! You could wait for the sale but if you're heart is set on it and then its sold out you will be gutted. I would wait re the BMs dresses tho just incase something happens...

never to early! I've not even set a date for my wedding (Hoping to get married in Sept 2012 though) and have my dress! (and bought my shoes yesterday too!)

When I first got engaged in Feb, I went to look at a couple of bridal shops with my bridesmaids just to get an idea of what I wanted. Fell in love with an Alfred Angelo gown, but not with the £900 price tag! Found an unworn one on ebay at the start of May and got it for £120!

So yeah, if you love the dress, go for it!!

Just to let everyone know that I tried it on and I didnt like it! Not only that but I have now discovered that its unlikely that I am going to be able to buy off the rack as apparently my chest will not fit in a size dress that the rest of my body requires!

Thank you all for your advice. I think over the next couple of months I am going to try and visit bridal shops and see when their sales are and whether or not I can find anything that is not going to cost me a small fortune.

    Failing that, God knows!!

    xx

You could always speak to a seamstress in buying an "off the rack" dress a size or two bigger than normal & then get it fitted to you.
