Access rights to files on comp, query?

Options
I have reinstalled Windows XP onto a New HDD (after messing up the original HDD by switching the comp off before it shut down properly).

I have managed to copy over most files from the old to new drive, but cannot copy some as Access is Denied. So these must be 'locked' to my original logon. How can I unlock these files so that I can access the files?

Thanks for your help

You need to login as Administrator and take ownership of the files.
