1st Class cheaper than Economy
Options
A colleague of mine recently travelled from Teeside to Aberdeen by train.
Typically the fare ranges from £17 up to about £76, depending on how early you book. Unfortunately, as it was not a pre-planned journey the price was £76 but upon enquiring about the 1st class fare he got a ticket for £23!
It seems that in common with cattle class there are a certain number of 1st class tickets available at the low price so it may just pay to ask next time you need to travel at short notice.
