Parental support for more than one child at university

have one daugher at university- another due to go next September and one the following year. My middle daughter is starting to explore her options. One thing I am not too sure of is how is having more than one son/ daughter at university taken into consideration. I was told that they knock of a small amount ( approx £1,000) when considering income. I did manage to speak to someone at student finance yesterday who said that my income was deemed to be approx half ( shared between the two so to speak as a rough rule of thumb). I was told that this would mean they would both get the maximum maintenance grant ( non repayable portion). I have a third daughter who will start the following year and am keen to get this sorted. I can't find any written information to confirm this either way. Thanks

Whoever told you that was talking complete !!!!!!!!, I'm afraid.

Your income levels are the same, it's the assessed contribution that is split between the two.

Are they going to the same university by chance? I know that some universities have a discounted rate for siblings (Kent Canterbury being one)

As far as I know Kent's loyalty scheme is only for privately funded degrees, so could not be used with the loan for fees. Also it's only about 10% for one year
