Getting rid of my van shell

Hi, I've stripped my non-running van to it's shell and then cut the shell into pieces, with the idea of selling these shell parts to people repairing their own van.
However, looking at my logbook it says I need to fill in the name and address of the dealer I sold the van (complete ?) too.

So how do I legally get rid of this jigsaw of a shell ?

You need to tick the box on the V5 that says that you have scrapped/broken the vehicle yourself, along with the date you did it. Then send the V5 back to the DVLA.

I'd send it recorded delivery, if I were you.

I did this years ago with a Dolomite Sprint. No problem. Made quite a bit on the mechanical parts. The body was rotten as a pear.

If only that option was still available on the newer V5's.

The older V5's have a "broken it up myself" box to tick. If a newer one just send it off, by recorded delivery, with a covering letter stating that you have broken it up and destroyed the VIN plate and chassis numbers.

    Thanks for your replies,

I'm pretty sure there is no 'scrapped' box on my logbook (can't get to it at the moment to check) so I think my best bet is to give DVLA a call.

    nothing's ever easy :(

Right, just had a look at my logbook, and there is a 'scrapped' box :o

in section '6' (new keeper or new name/new address details).........

I was looking at section '9' (Notification of sale/transfer to the motor trade/dismantler).....

I'm off down to specsavers, and I promise not to come back to these forums with stupid questions :(

    Thanks for your help :T
