Hi,
We have a 03 reg Peugeot 206 and we've had to have one of the front tyres changed because it blew, the guy who came out and did it had to hammer off one of the bolts because those air gun things had rounded off the edges and it wasn't coming off so we need to replace it.
It seems to be the older style from looking on ebay I can only see the newer style which are more conical.
Does anyone know what I'm talking about and where we could buy one??
Thanks

I would go to a Peugeot dealer to make sure you get the correct one !0 -
your title suggests you need an actual locking wheel bolt. but you mention you have been looking on ebay for one.
what do you actually need? if its just a normal hex headed wheel bolt then get on from ebay or the scrappys, if it has alloys then im sure the 206 uses flat face bolts for the alloys, but conical faced bolts for steel wheels.
if its an actual locking wheel bolt either get to your local peugeot dealer with the locking wheel bolt key, or alternatively buy yourself a new set of locking wheel bolts to suit your car from halfords or somewhere similar (but halfords ones are pretty good).
or as im sure some others will suggest just change all the locking wheel bolts to standard hex headed bolts and you wont have the problem of damaged locking bolts again....work permit granted!0 -
I will say again - go to a Peugeot dealer......
The OP is headed: "Locking wheel nut bolt" - it can't be both. It is either a nut or a bolt.
The latest post seems to use the terms "nuts" and "bolts" entirely at random, which has probably confused the OP even more !goldspanners wrote: »your title suggests you need an actual locking wheel bolt..............if its an actual locking wheel nut ............buy yourself a new set of locking wheel nuts to suit your car .................. others will suggest just change all the locking wheel bolts0 -

I suppose that shows what a dunce I am.
It's a bolt, the flat headed one for alloy wheels.Wins 2010 (holiday pretty please!): Jan:BlueReefAquariumTicket!Feb: TottenhamTeamMascotExperience!Mar: AvonPerfume£100YatesbartabAltonTowersbreak!Apr: - May: BicSoleilRazor June:2OdeonTickets BicRazorAgainHippHamperHamper July:HairAwards2010 Products!Aug:Nothing Sep: Nothing:( Oct: DailyMail£250!0 -

It's not a case of the OP being "incredibly stupid" - a lot of people really don't know the difference between a "nut and a "bolt".
To call them such is being somewhat patronising.0 -

i never called them that, you insinuated it.
i admit the continuity in my post was initially poor, mixing nut and bolt, ive already alapped my wrist over it and im totally ashammed.
but the op knew what they were talking about,so me mixing the word nut with bolt would have been understood im sure....work permit granted!0 -

PARDON !
I would suggest that when you are in a hole you STOP digging. I did not state that the OP was "incredibly stupid", YOU did.
I stated (after your ignorant comment) that many people don't know the difference between a nut and a bolt - my wife probably doesn't - any more than I would know which size needle to use in her sewing machine for different fabrics.
That certainly doesn't make either of us "incredibly stupid" !0 -

I never stated that, nor did i acuse you of stating that, i said you insinuated that by making your sarky remark. what i meant was by pointing out my small error, you assumed the op didn't know what they were talking about.
the op clearly knew what i was meaning.
if you have nothing useful to add to the thread other than picking me up on small issues like mixing up the words "nut" and "bolt",which i have corrected,i suggest you STOP posting.
why would i come on here offering help to a poster then offend them in my next post? its not really my style. only trolls do that....work permit granted!0
