Contributions based JSA

For reasons I do not wish to go into I am considering leaving my job of 16yrs.
My husband works, would I in the intermitent period of finding another job be entitled to claim contributions based JSA?
[ I am not a benefits scrounger before anyone jumps to conclusions!! ]

It depends on your reason for leaving. If the DM decided that your reason for leaving was not good enough, your claim would be sanctioned for up to 26 weeks.

You will need to give us your reason.

Your claim could be cut or put on hold for a significant period of time if you are deemed to have voluntarily made yourself unemployed or left your job for no good reason.

She doesn't actually, although she'll need to tell JCP and there may, as you say, be a sanction of up to 26 weeks.
