Recommendation of Solicitor needed

Hi
I am thinking of purchasing a cottage in Devon that is to be used for holiday lets. I currently live in Warwickshire but do not know many people here and wondered if anybody knew a good solicitor in the area, I could use for buying this property. I am not adverse to using an online solicitor.
Many thanks!

I live in Warwickshire...and went with online solicitors based in Notts. Highly recommend. Online + text updates as well as post.

Many thanks bylromarha. I will investigate.
  • I've just gone with https://www.conveyancing-warehouse.com but there are others like https://www.legalmove.com.

I'm sure if you search on this forum you'll find them all. Other than that maybe go onto https://www.yell.com and search for solicitors local to the area that you want.

If there is a chain involved I would recommend using a local solicitor who is likely to know other local solicitors and estate agents. It does make things easier when you hit the normal snags, if they already know the other professionals involved. It certainly did for us as although our vendors solicitors (out of area!) were a bit slack, the EA and our solicitor were on good terms and between them they chivvied things along. You could phone round a few decent local agents in the area local to the property and ask for recommendations. The names that keep cropping up are the ones to get quotes from.
