Holland & Barrett- buy one get the second half price

My local store says this is a nationwide promotion; Buy ANY item and get ANY item half price- over all stocked products, presumably the cheaper item half price. Runs into July (sorry don't know the exact date) Time to stock up on Easi Yo etc!
Being polite and pleasant doesn't cost anything!

Why do you feel you have to say negative stuff on every holland and barrett thread...if you don't like don't comment with words that have absolutley no worth to the thread ;)

If we want to waste our money as you put it then thats up to us

FYI, this offer runs until the 15th, and its not quite just 'get the cheapest half price'; if you're buying multiple items the till sorts them into price descending order and gives you every other one half price. If you're just buying 2 then yes it is cheapest half price.

Or it could be people using it to buy healthy products at a reduced price such as quinoa, grains, nuts, seeds, dried fruit etc. (if these are buy one get one half price products. I don't know as I haven't been to a H&B for a few weeks).
Personally I'm very happy the OP brought this to my attention. I will have to go as soon as I can to see what it's on.

Hairy muff, I agree that the items you mention are in the 'good for you' category..........but I would also say that they are typically available much cheaper elsewhere [even allowing for the h&b 'sale' prices].

Er, I don't..it's just when someone is pushing stuff that doesn't work I feel the need for science and logic to put in the odd word.

Surely the whole point of MSE is to help people either get stuff cheaper or not waste their money on stuff that doesn't work??? The threads are full of people pointing out issues with Grabbits [eg netbooks that are 'a bargain' are not such a bargain when the shortcomings are listed].

I agree that you are free to waste your money if you want [I do it enough myself]. It's just that surely you would be happier knowing that you're wasting your money rather than simply believing that you're somehow buying magic potions that you think work??

I'm all for extravagance, but a major part of the enjoyment of extravagance is knowing that it is a complete and utter luxury that you don't need/won't use....it's the waste that makes it pleasurable!!!!

So by all means buy the sugar pills but now that you know they don't actually do anything it'll make it even more enjoyable buying them.

Have a read of 'Trick or Treatment' by [iirc] Edvard Ernst and Simon Singh...excellent book that debunks a lot of the quackery[imo].
