jsa question

Hi everyone

have recently been awardrd jsa, in the award notice it says i'll be getting £65 a week, looked in my bank today and there was £74 from them in there??

do they pay weekly now? i thought you get it all fortnightly?

  • They pay fortnightly in arrears - goes into your bank 3 working days after you signed on.

    Are you currently two weeks into a new claim for JSA ?
    If so, you will have served 3 waiting days with no money due, and they've paid you 8 days worth of JSA (£74.80).

    I agree that if it is a new claim that your first sign date is very rarely 17 days after you first claim (first 3 days you aren't entitled to any money) so the first amount that usually goes in tends to be a random amount of money comparred to what you get written in the letter.
