My friend went there 2 years ago and said it wasn't very good and would not recommend , i know Primrose Valley is very good and that's nearby we have been there twice and our friend got back yesterday and had an excellent time.

Id 2nd Primrose Valley, it is in my view a much bigger and better park. I am almost certain its right on bus route.
It has been a couple of years since weve been but I think id still reccomend Primrose.
  • Blue Dolphin has buses calling in the park- the routes Scarborough to Bridlington, nearest is Scarborough, i think it's a bus every hour, in each direction. It's years since i went but it was fine, the annoying thing is that as it's on the cliff top it doesn't have beach access. They had a roller disco, don't know if it's still there but that was good. Primrose Valley is good but thats not helpful if you've booked Blue Dolphin and it will be dearer

Went there years ago and I think there is a small village nearby. The trip into Scarborough is quite long so best done on a day when your family don't fancy activities on offer. To be honest it is typical of the type of place you go when your kids are small, they love it and if they are happy the holiday is a lot better.

We went last year but just camping for the weekend - and we didn't even leave the site, there was plenty to keep the kids entertained.
I'd heard mixed reviews but we really enjoyed it.
Sorry, no idea on the public transport.
    Have a good holiday.
  • im going there in 2 weeks so i'll message you back, and i hope some of the reviews are wrong cause i haven't been on holiday for 5 years and im looking forward to this one

To be honest I did prefer Primrose, but Blue Dolphin was ok. A holiday is what you make of it so go with an open mind and im sure you will have a great time :D

I too am going to Blue Dolphin in the Summer holidays - I'm going with Sun Holidays and have been before. It's a bargain for £9.50 each! i've stayed at this one and Primrose Valley before, however this year I couldn't get a sun holiday to Primrose in the Summer school holidays.

The park itself is as any other Haven park is. It's a more smaller site but that makes everything seem closer. not too far to walk on an evening etc. Entertainment is again as per normal Haven nights.

There is a bus stop outside and is ideally place for day trips out and about. We are taking the car so plan a day at Lightwater Valley - we've done this before and it's still around 1.5hours to get there, but closer than from our home.

If you look now for Sealife vouchers there's one in Scarborough, and a really good rock making factory too that you could do on the same day. It's best to pre-book your tour though so you don't miss out on the day you go.
Forty and fabulous, well that's what my cards say....

I've been a few times to Blue Dolphin and my kids have enjoyed it. The entertainment was good, the caravans were clean but the only thing we didn't like was the opening times of the restaurants. We went into Filey for fish and chips which was just 5mins in the car. Filey is also a lovely place, clean with a lovely beach. During our stay in Blue Dolphin there was torrential rain and although there was a puddle around our caravan, Primrose Valley was extremely flooded. I also went to Primrose Valley years ago but hated it. I have heard it has since been done out and is a great holiday camp. It can be expensive in the arcades though in these places. Enjoy your hol. :)
