Just wanted to praise Sky (for a change)
Box went into standby mode this evening and I could not get it to turn on no matter how many times I tried. I gave Sky a call and was quickly put through to a wonderfully polite engineer - he was so apologetic when getting me to try things that didn't work. Ended up having to do a full system reset which meant losing all of my recordings. I mentioned that I had a few things recorded that I hadn't got around to watching yet and the engineer asked me to hold for a second and see if there was anything he could do.
Within a minute he had come back to me and offered all of the Sky Movie channels absolutely free for 3 months. Needless to say Im not so worried about losing my recorded programmes now!:D

Just make sure you give enough notice to cancel the movie channels before the 3 months is up. Otherwise they will continue and you will get charged.
I must admit i've never had any problems with Sky CS the few problems I have had have been sorted very quickly.0 -
That is a shame you lost your recordings.
I have had my Sky box stuck in standby a few times but always been able to get it started and kept all my old programmes.0
