Windows 2000 update

Got a laptop that i use infrequantly (tecra 8200 PIII)
It has windows 2000 OS
trouble is i have began to use it and thus wished to update it via windows update
It wont allow me to do this, I imagine it is because it has been so long since i updated it
Can anybody shed any light on how to get around this or does anybody know where best place is to get an up to date copy of this OS?

has it got ie 6 installed if not try that re try . I have this prob on a win 98 machine running ie 5 and it also failed then their is a load of updates ,i belive ms where on service pack 3 before they pulled support on windows 20000
