Of course
I will advise her to pay it all in full
Thanks for all the good advice, I'll let her know how to proceed (or not to proceed) and fingers crossed9/70lbs to lose0 -
After several 'go and come' letters, i received another one enclosed 3g account STATEMENT from lowell.
Any experts here who can help to explain if the STATEMENT can prove that the debt is mine?
Do i still have chance to ask for airtime agreement?
Thanks! T_T0 -
What details are given on the statement?
Is there anything on the statement that would suggest the debt was yours? Or not mine?
I would still request a copy of the airtime agreement as proof of the debt. When are they saying you last made a payment towards this? If more than 6 years ago then the debt may be statute barred. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
Dad Gift 6k ¦ Savings & Inv Tst: £2,500
Loan 10k: £0 ¦ Dad 5.5k: £2,270 ¦ LTSB: £0 ¦ RBS: £0 ¦ Virgin £0 ¦ Egg £0
Total Owed: £2,270 (+6k) 11/08/20110 -

Thanks for your kindly reply, George!
First of all, the so-called debt is less than 6 years so...
The statement they sent me includes: account number, debted-phone number, bill date, my name, the address where i never lived, 3 bill with the 'owed' balance, a barcode and the cheque/cash payment form at the bottom of the paper.
Any ideas?
Also, wonder if the statement can be faked by lowell?0 -
If they have an address you have never lived at as the statement address, then you should inform them that you do not recognise this as your account and you require a copy of the airtime agreement to prove that this is your debt. Then state that you have not lived at the address they have provided.
If they wanted to, then yes - a company could produce a fake statement. I could produce a credit agreement signed by Elvis!! I don't know if this is a fake though - they would have at least got the address correct if they were going to go to all that trouble. I wouls still require them to provide a copy of the airtime agreement. After falling off the gambling wagon (twice): £33,600 (24,000+ 9,600) - Original CC Debt: £7,885.91
