I'm travelling for 6 months in November to US, Fiji, New Zealand, Australia, Thailand and Hong Kong.
I'm also going on a couple of holidays within Europe (France and Spain) this summer.
What travel insurance is best please? I've seen the feature for a Single Person Worldwide Policy, but I think I'd rather pay more for less excess etc, considering I am away for a good part of the year.
STA Travel gave me a quote of £123 - which I can get 15% off for (as we're booking flights with them).
Any advice please?!

If that quote with STA is for a year including the US, and allowing 6 months of travel in one go (many are limited to 30 days - you should double check), it's a pretty good deal. I doubt you'll find cheaper. Just make sure it covers the activities you wish to do.0

It looks like I would actually require Single Trip Insurance from STA: http://www.statravel.co.uk/cps/rde/xchg/uk_division_web_live/hs.xsl/blue-travel-insurance-cover.htm
They do Budget, Standard or Premier (all for under 35s which I am) with prices: £138, £198 and £237 respectively.
From the above link which do you think looks best? Of those I think I would go with the Premier package but ideally I'd like football/basketball/swimming involved, possibly riding a moped...?!0 -
The budget cover from that is very cheap and I think you would find yourself out of pocket if you wanted to claim at all. The other two are ok, think about the sports that you might want to do. The places you're going there will be opportunity to go white water rafting, mountain biking, kayaking, etc so you might want to be covered for those. Keep in mind that you probably won't be covered for riding a moped without the appropriate licence (even if it is not required in that country). Also, that web page is not quite clear about whether or not it includes the US.
If that is single trip you will obviously also need insurance for the other trips you are taking. It may be cheaper to get a year long policy. Compare with www.worldnomads.com and try and get a broker to quote as well, they are the two places I have found it cheaper before.0
