No. The GTS 250 is just a rebadged 9800 GTX, which itself was just a rebadged 8800GT - the card is based on technology which is more than two years old, is directx 9 only (we're already on directx 11) and is very outdated.

It normally retails at £80-£90 but it's not even worth half that - it's a shame that nVidia have managed to eke out sales by incrementing the model number without actually changing the card.

Thanks for that. Cant i upgrade to direct x 10? I thought these cards were DX10.1?

Anyway i wont be buying. I might pop into store and see if manager gives it to me for £40 quid but considering they had GT220 @ £79.99, i highly doubt it. (The gt250 was only one left)

Nope. These cards are DirectX 9 only. You could install directX 10.1 on your computer, but that would be pointless as this card only has the hardware to run games at DirectX 9.

It wouldn't be pointless, because newer versions include fixes and improvements. Just because you can't use all the newer extensions doesn't make it pointless.
They say it's genetic, they say he can't help it, they say you can catch it - but sometimes you're born with it
