Dormant Bank account

This is my first thread so please excuse me if i'm in wrong place or seem to have done anything incorrect.
I recently discovered an old bank account of mine it was TSB Jeans scheme saving account (anyone remember this) So i got in touch with now What is LLYODS TSB bank who gave me a leafet to fill in and send off to a place where looks into dormant bank accounts. My last entry was May 1987 with the grand sum of £3.69. After 3-4 weeks Lloyds TSB sent me a letter with a cheque for £4.26! Now i'm not a greedy lady but is 56pence in twenty years a good rate of intrest is this amount so low because of the minium balance? or because of the type of account? any sussgestions pleased to hear from you all with kind regards Bassettscat
