my phone bill has had several 09 calls on it. I want to find out what these numbers are. Does anyone know of a directory?

09 numbers are premium rate costing 50p (or more) a minute  but i guess you already know that. www.whocallsme.com may have the number stored, you could always try submitting the number that displays on your bill, but i dont know of a directory that actually has 09 numbers stored in it as such. Maybe someone else will know?.

Put the number into Google and see what it finds.
Or post it on here to see if anyone could help, or if you have 50p or £1 to spare you could ring it.
Quite a common one is a sky box when people enter games or competitions (so I am told!!)

Although that is probably going to turn out to be the case (indeed, the maximum is £1.50/minute), there are numerous charge bands for 09 numbers - some charging as little as 1½p/minute (e.g. 0904199 numbers at weekends).
Time has moved on (much quicker than it used to - or so it seems at my age) and my previous advice on residential telephony has been or is now gradually being overtaken by changes in the retail market. Hence, I have now deleted links to my previous 'pearls of wisdom'. I sincerely hope they helped save some of you money.

just because they appear on your bill does not mean they were legitimately dialled from your phone.
There have been numerous cases where crooks (who receive revenue) have dialled them from roadside cabinets.

    what were the numbers?
