Flat roof repair costs and advice req'd pls

Hi there.

I have been quoted £500 to replace a flat roof on a dormer approx 6m x 2m.

I believe this is fairly reasonable, there are no boards to replace, just the felt - am i correct that it reasonable?

Also,

If he is taking no boards off, just ripping the old felt off!! is there a way to add insulation to the roof underneath the felt or is this going to cause me more trouble than its worth. I was thinking of somethinh like kingspan or airtec double!

Thanks in advance

Regards

We had our felt flat roof replaced about 5 years ago with a fibre glass system by a compnay called Rooftec and they did a really good job and replaced all the boards too.

No regrets at all and it was around the same price I was being quoted for felt roofs at the time but will last basically last forever.

Cheers for that, Unfortunately it is joined to next doors dormer roof and they cannot guarantee it if it has a joint to standard felt.

My next doior neighbour only had hers done just over two years ago so doesnt want to get hers replaced so am stuck with felt really

    Thanks

I've been quoted to have mine done (about 3.2m x 5.8m) we were quoted £730 for three layers, some plactic facial and replace the guttering, so your quote seems fair
