"I also use the price checking websites twice a year to see if I can get a cheaper deal for them."" nice one musey !
  • thank you both

as a quick update I should say I have accepted the flat, the Lady who showed me round spoke about the meter again - it hadn't been emptied since february and she took £83 out of it on the day we viewed - she reckons a spend of £10-£15 per month - not quites where she got the other figure of £60 every 6 weeks from but if what she said yesterday was correct then it shouldn't be a problem. The house itself is an old nursing home that has been converted into 3 flats which is why the water rates and central heating are included as the boiler is in the downstairs flat.

just looking for furniture now - but having agreed to the flat at 3pm yesterday, by 7pm I had already sourced 2 14" portable tv's (for the bedrooms), a tv cabinet, a bagless vacuum cleaner, freeview box and 1 x 2 str & 1 x 3 str sofa.

just need 2 beds, fridge and washing machine and we got the basics :P
