VUE Cinema

Options
Well at the weekend boyfriend and I went to the cinema. When purchasing tickets it was suggested that we buy VIP seats as the show was quite busy and it was likely we would have to sit at the front. In total there were 6 of us in the showing.

Can anyone help in the wording of an email I could send to complain to the manager annoyed at the little weasel trying to get more money out of us with plain lies.

Maybe they had a 100+ party booked, which canceled last minute? You can't just assume they were out with malicious intent. The best thing to have done would have been to speak to the manager after the film. They are famously known (at least in this area) to quickly refund or give out free tickets.

Its not exactly a massive issue so i'd just do a letter expressing deep dissatisfaction and that it spoilt what was set to be a lovely night. That you felt conned and are the ticket sales on commission for getting people to sit on the VIP seats.

If your lucky you might get an apologetic letter back and maybe a voucher... if you do i'd also get a lottery ticket for saturday too lol

VIP seats are better anyway for an extra 1.00 id rather have more leg room and better seats.

I would email your doctor, as money has been easily extracted from your purse. They can offer a solution to this from happening again. It is called a limb reduction therapy, so that you arms are now unable to get into your pockets.

Lol yeah but obviously if you were offered the choice of rubbish seats or good seats for £1/2 extra and you wanted to see it you'd pay.

If the seats they said would be rubbish then weren't rubbish then it's been mis-sold.

At the Vue near me the normal seats are pretty spacious anyway - better than any of the other chains I sometimes use . I'd not pay extra for the VIP seats unless it was likely to be busy I really wouldn't get a decent seat, so on that basis I have sympathy for the OP purely on the fact it seems they were sold in a rather devious way, not just made aware better seats were available. I'd certainly contact them to point that out - Vue are normally pretty good in my experience re customer service. It may be that the salesperson was acting out of line with Vue's own policy so they'd be grateful to having it pointed out (known that happen with another company). I'd be a bit more diplomatic though than referring to lying weasels lol

So, the brain cell reduction therapy worked then?

Its probably like a script thats drummed into their heads by managers that just comes automatically,

go to McDonalds and they ask you to go large,
go to comet and they persist on selling extra warranty by putting the fear into you,
as with argos and so on.

Dont think the email will help, the the weasel will probably get an award for trying to con extra money from you.
