Landscaping costs

Hi,
I was wondering if someone can provide a rough cost of the landscaping i am about to get done. I ve been quoted 13000 for this. Is this a ripoff?

- Fell 1 conifer tree (25 feet)
- Remove 2 holly bushes and small hedge (a meter high and 5 meters long)

- Relay the existing driveway (20m x 5m) . Use same stones
Move the driveway to the right slightly by adding 3 columns of bricks on each side.

- Erecting a wall 10 meters wide and 2 meters high.

- Erecting another wall 7 meters and .5 metres high.

- Patio paving 30 m2 indian sandstone.

I was told 3 guys working for 2 weeks roughly.
Thanks

We have just had 26 m2 of indian sandstone layed. Materials £1197 for 33 m2 (they come in 11 ish m2 packs) and £800 labour. So £1997 (plus hardcore that I arranged beforehand - see below). This took one guy (and his son who mixed the cement and helped to point it up) 3 - 4 days. We've used him in the past for similar work at our other house and he came recommended and he's the cheapest guy around, but has a reputation for quality so the price is about what you'll pay (if not more with some others).

I've no idea about the rest of the work, but what you're having done seems like pretty major work when you consider it took my guy 3-4 days just for the sandstone (less the digging out and hardcore work). I'd already had mine dug out, hardcored and wacked down beforehand. Hardcore cost me an additional £350 plus cost to hire the wacker £30 so you're 30mtr square will cost a bit to do. Dig out, sand, cement, hardcore, wacker - I would say 1 - 2 days to do this.

    Does the price include materials?

Does their quote break things down for you so you can clearly see what price is what?

I'd get another quote for sure to compare and contrast.

I'd prefer to get quotes from building contractors rather than landscaping companies for the kind of work that you plan.

The price includes the cost of materials. He has not provided itemised breakdown so i am a bit worried as to whether it is the right quote. I might get someone to provide a second quote. Are you around south london way by any chance and if so, could you provide the guy's details that you used?

No, I'm not I'm afraid. Building trade places, like Travis Perkins, can recommend people and as K says might be better using a more specific trade to do the work (the chap that did ours focuses his work on the hard landscaping).
