Hi Guys and thanks in advance for your help
My partner has just moved from living in a shared house to renting his own cottage. There is a big change in rent etc so we are looking for simple ways to save a bit of cash here and there and also possibly earn a bit of extra money - he already works 2 jobs so really does not have time for another but maybe one off work or temporary work?
Many Thanks

Get you partner to post an SOA on the Debt-Free Wannabe board.
If he's struggling to pay his rent and other outgoings even with two jobs, perhaps he should have rented a smaller property??"You were only supposed to blow the bl**dy doors off!!"0 -
There is a budget planner spreadsheet available on the Tool section of the MSE website which will help him track his income and expenses which should make clearer where his money is going. The various sections of the website will tell him the best deals for energy, telecoms/broadband and so on, as well as general advice to minimise spending
What proportion of his income is he spending on rent?0 -
Rent is only £450 a month but a large proportion of his income goes on other bills (repayment of loans, car finance etc)0
