iPhone crash help

I was on my iPhone 3g which is jailbroken and it suddenly crashed and showed the apple logo as if it was turning on, then the screen goes black and the phone is off. If I turn it on the apple logo shows for 10-20 seconds then it turns off again. I have tried hard resetting it as well as trying to sync it with itunes, but the same thing happens with the apple logo showing then it switching off. Anyone had this problem or know how to solve this??
