He also told me today that I'm an embarrassment when out shopping as I always talk to the staff and always make a fuss in banks etc when they get things wrong:o Feel really hurt so I've said he can shop on his own in future and use his own cash with his debit card.

Ooh - snap! Don't be hurt! Embarrassing your kids is defintiely one of the few perks of parenting! Now, I get a chance to get my own back. (insert evil laughing smiley muhaha...)

Final assembly for mine is a very formal affair, and DS2 plans to buy a suit - going halves with me, and he'll have it for the other formal occasions, certificate evening, interviews etc I think DD has enough dresses already, but bet she finds another at the Clothes Show on Saturday. She was given two tickets for her birthday, anbd asked me to go with her. I'm quite touched she wanted me instead of one of her friends (although I realise I have a credit card...)

Thank you for the washing machine info. I've almost decided on a Bosch, depends how negotiations go with OH!

Must go buy bread and milk...

neveah~~just in case I am being thick, (quiet at the back) you mean the 11 year old is the mother of the 6 month baby, or the sister to the 6 month old baby.....

as I read it as she is the mother, I am sure I have got that wrong :o

    Afternoon everyone
what a fabulous day it is here - very very hot!

Dusty WTG with the weight loss - well done:T:T and :mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad::mad: at your DS that was not a nice thing to say - i am sure we all embarass children/friends/ family but we accept that that is just the way people are - have a huge squishy (((hug)))
serena and MissH well done to your DDs.
claret well done on your first day - it really does get easier each week.
Triker glad to see you have your cooker problem sorted. ETA - so glad it has arrived and you have got rid of the old one.:T:T
LadyL please give Diva my love if you have a chance. I hope the sun stays fro you and you enjoy every minute - I am sending you all my spoons (except 1)to use to make sure its a fab time- have the best time ever and make sure you have blanked out your diary for when you get back - you will be shattered!! lots of love xxxxx
lil_me what a relief that must be knowing that your friend is safe - thats the 1st big step - i hope it gets better for her now.
kazw you sort them out girl - that is so not on - make them squirm and grovel and be very very very sorry .....oops got a bit carried away but that really bugs me too.
neveah hope you dont have too long to wait and the outcome is positive (((hugs))) good grief ...11 and has a baby.... I am speechless! I hope she has good support.
holly oh no - have a (((hug))) too - just what you didnt need

Dusty I will check back re the iron - my previous one was great - it had a non-stick base - ceramic I think - you could go from silk to jeans to wool and it didnt mark - I just have a cheapie just now as i couldnt afford the better opne - i think it might have been tefal.

didnt manage to get back on last night with my stupid connection.

been to Cornhill today and made myself a lovely necklace! The only other person that has been there longer than me has been discharged so it looks like I will be next:(
I was also well miffed - the official opening of the centre was yesterday and we weren't even told - it was in the paper today and on the TV last night apparently - none of the volunteers or day-patients were asked or told about it - only 90 assorted bigwigs! (and only some of the staff)
We have all been waiting for the opening since last year and wondering who was going to do it.

    *rant over*

better go find my list and see what i can cross off - i did a good bit of the bathroom last night ( and used all my spoons!) and got into trouble with my carer!!

    toots xx
    Peace will be mine
could do better - must try harder

DS1 gone for his last exam (Food hygiene). Last time he'll be in his school uniform. It makes me sad. I know that is daft but it's like the end of an era.

He also told me today that I'm an embarrassment when out shopping as I always talk to the staff and always make a fuss in banks etc when they get things wrong:o Feel really hurt so I've said he can shop on his own in future and use his own cash with his debit card.

We did the same with DD1 after her last exam.. I said if you are going to cry get it over with.. otherise get it in the wash so your sister can have it lol

My sister who is 26 won't come shopping wth me and my mother because we kick up fusses too!

I think they should prosecute the parents for negligence!!! They either knowingly allowed their daughters to have sex or did not properly supervise them allowing it to happen.. That did NOT go down well when I said it to the mum of the youngest girl in this country to have a baby.. she was 11 and 3 months when her daughter was born.. the dad was 14. The mother had allowed them to sleep together in her house because 'at least she knew where they were' I said she should have been more concerned about what they were doing than where they were given the situation she allowed her daughter to get into.. I also found a lot of the time it was the mothers who WANTED the daughters to have a baby so they could have a new toy.. Totally irresponsible parenting.

I also know someone who was a grandmother at 27!

I heard from her last night ..... I will tell her you are all asking, but I'm afraid I will have to leave it up to her to come back when she is ready ;) x

    xx

Thanks LadyL that's all we needed, as long as we know she's still communicating with someone. I will let the others know, they will be delighted. Thanks again. XXX

This is all just too too scary, I'm 28 and the thought of a kid frightens me quite badly! So much so, I'm off to clean my bathroom tiles! :o
