Looks like they have faked the history. If you bought your new car from the same garage I would be extremely worried.0
-
I'd been inclined to report them, but I don't know how you'd do it anonomously...0
-
Or they have managed to track it down? By contacting the previous owners or using the mot info website...0
-
The car was only sold to the dealer on Friday so it would be too quick to get any history of the previous owners. Also MOT info shows just the work it has needed for the MOTs it not anything to with service history.0

Sounds like something your local trading standards would be interested in0
-
If the car you bought from them has full service history, I would start ringing a few garages who did the work.0
-
Does it actually have a service history and you just forgot to take your stamped book into the garage.
If not, trading standards should be your next port of call, Im afraid.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.

Maybe you could get a mate to go pose as a prospective buyer? Tell him to use his/her mob tel to voice record the conversation.Feudal Britain needs land reform. 70% of the land is "owned" by 1 % of the population and at least 50% is unregistered (inherited by landed gentry). Thats why your slave box costs so much..0

Looking at it from a Dealers point of view... We often get cars in with none or little history, so a bit of ringing about and common sense usually ends up with it having full history. Or as close to as possible.
The mot info website - yes it gives the details of the place that did the MOT, but a quick phone call could reveal that they did oil and filter every year too, or saw the car for other servicing work.
Look on the V5 and then cross reference to 118118 to get the previous owners number and give them a polite phone call to ask what there was etc.
OP - maybe give the garage a call who is selling your old car and ask them to confirm what garage has been looking after it?0 -
I presumed that when the OP said full service history that he meant a service history fully stamped book.
A bit different from just history eh.make the most of it, we are only here for the weekend.
