spotify on ubuntu

hi ive been watching you tube videos on how to get spotify on ubuntu,
i keep getting this error message...The file '/home/kevin101/Downloads/Spotify Installer.exe' is not marked as executable. If this was downloaded or copied form an untrusted source, it may be dangerous to run. For more details, read about the executable bit.
im new to ubuntu, so any help would be great.

that's a windows executable, it won't work in Linux without using WINE. http://www.spotify.com/int/help/faq/wine/

Follow the instructions in the link in post #2 above.
It's not difficult.
The YouTube tutorials may be out of date now.
Spotify runs well with Ubuntu and Wine.

What the other two posters forgot is to set the executable bit. Right click on the .exe -> Properties -> Permissions Tab -> [x] Allow executing file as a program.

After you installed Wine, right click on the file again and select "open with Wine"

Also check out "PlayOnLinux" it's a frontend for wine and also has setup scripts for a few Windows programs like Spotify, Steam, and MSN Messenger.
