Hi Everyone!
I have plucked up the courage to try and claim my overdraft charges back! I have also encouraged my OH to do the same so here's hoping!
Im with Barclays, has anyone reclaimed Bank Charges with them, if so, how did you get on?
Cheers!

I have just had success with Barclays... they held out until the last possible minute. Court date was 30th (yesterday) and they wrote and offered to settle out of court last week.
Hold your nerve and you can do it!
:heartpuls CG :heartpulsEver wonder about those people who spend £2 apiece on those little bottles of Evian water? Try spelling Evian backward.0 -
Cheers Carol, i went onto https://www.penaltycharges.co.uk this evening and copied the letter asking for my charges details, will post it tomorrow.

I have just got my charges too. Even though it was the banks fault as my OH withdrew money from an ATM and didn't have any money in it, the bank account showed it had given the money out. How wrong it was. Direct debits got returned unpaid and without knowing racked up £230.00 in charges. Having sent them a letter explaining and threw in the "Loyal customer" quote, they offered £150 back. Oh no i said, so phoned them up and eventually got back £210.
It can be done. But i have to thank MSE for advice and guidance on how to do it and stick to my guns.

Go for it! I am claiming over £5000 in total from the Abbey, Capital One and Citicards. It is four claims and they are all at the court stage now. It turned down an offer of £1,994 today from the Abbey, because it's all about holding your nerve and not being put off or intimidated.
I'm waiting for court dates on two of them and I've just had a Judgement by Default against Citicards issued because they ignored /forgot to action the summons!!!!
It takes a little time from start to finish, have a look at http://www.consumeractiongroup.co.uk for more help.0 -
