Sparklylime, what an absolutely excellent idea about the hampers. I !!!!!!!g love it. Good god, if I hadn't already booked our BBQ caterers! I am planning to put a cheese and pate board on each table at 9pm. Strawberries and cream sounds great, and with June you could even pick them yourself! Annoyed that with mine in May they won't be ready yet.

I think our ideas seem pretty similar. Where is yours happening?

This is a very similar theme to what were trying to achieve for our wedding in Aug 2011. Were still trying to get ideas atm tho. Im lucky enough to have a dad with a big enough garden so venue isn't a prob n have booked a marquee incase of bad weather. we just want a fun relaxed day.

Mine will just be near Lancaster where we live :) We'll marry in our local church then there are a couple of village halls that we are trying to decide between. Where are you having yours?

We're doing the hampers because OH is a chef and wants total control over the food but a) not many places allow self catering (thats why we're using a hall) and b) I don't wan't him in the kitchen on our wedding day lol! So he is making everything to go in the hampers in the few days before the wedding. He has catered for all types of events in the past so I know this will be no problem at all for him.

I'm so looking forward to it all - and I really hope the weather next June is as good as it has been this year!

Does anyone have any nice melon cocktail recipes - I've done a quick search through google, but nothing's jumping out of me !

Oooh just been sitting here flipping through the sunday papers (I know...its only tuesday now!) Anyways in the magazine from the Mail on Sunday there is a watermelon rum cocktail and it made me think of you and your theme so here it is...

"To serve 6 - peel and deseed half a medium watermelon to yeild about 750g of flesh.
Cut this into 3cm cubes and place in freezer for 1 and a half hours. Combine 125ml of light rum with 3 tbsp fresh lime juice and 2 tbsp sugar until dissolved.
    Trim and slice 125g strawberries.
Pour the rum mixture into a blender, add the strawberries and the iced watermelon cubes. Whiz til blended, pour into glasses and decorate with lime or watermelon slices"

Sounds yummy, and what an excuse for some cocktail making practice!

Angela we obviously have both have good taste. lol. Im finding it that thelater in pregnancy i get the more i can't sleep so wedding stuff keeps my head busy.

Your plans seem alot more thought out than mine atm. I want a really bright laid back day. we are looking at having a bouncy castle for the children n some adults aswell. There is also a swimming pool to use.
Got to sort out in my head what i want n how to do it as budget friendly as possible.

I know what you mean, if I wake up at 3am and can't get back to sleep, I don't actually mind that much getting the laptop out and just trawling the internet for ideas and pictures. The list I've 'favourited' over the past few months is ridiculous, have just gone through to put into folders and delete the rubbish Ive gone off already.

Well good luck girls, here's to all our lovely relaxed garden party weddings!

I know what u mean about the favourites list, my laptop died at the weekend and my first thought was that all my wedding stuff was on it.
That why my ideas are all scrambled up now and im finding it really hard to explain to people what is in my head.
Oh well ill have to go through it all again.
