Sorry to hijack OP, but how often does everyone have it done? I had my first ever Hollywood last week and to be fair, there were certain areas which hurt a LOT! I'm wondering how long I need to leave it between waxes?Scar tissue that I wish you saw, sarcastic mister know it all, close your eyes and I'll kiss you cause with the birds I'll share this lonely view.0

The scary thing is, you only have to complete a day course in waxing to be classed as qualified. Then a further 4 hour course to be qualified in advanced waxing .
That is so true, i attended one of these courses...not cheap either and i was shocked at how unintensive it was and i had to wax unknowns the 2nd day and i was definatley not ready...i even got wax in the womans head hair i was so nervous
I never took it any further as i felt very under trained...waste of money really, but to think these people set up business after that
Research and recommendations are a must.0 -

It depends how quickly it grows back. I'm a beautician and i do my own waxing, I find 4 weeks is about the length of time for me.
I get paid to smell great :j0 -

waxing is the way forward0 -
apologies for bumping an old thread but didn't see the point in making a new one when there was a related one here already.
I want to get a hollywood wax, how long should the hair be to do it?
Also a friend said I should use a no scream cream, is that really necessary? I get legs and eyebrows done atm and i find eyebrows more sore than legs.0 -

First to say I have not had this done myself so am quoting websites and others rather then what I have been told by a beauty therapist.
Apparently the hairs you have all grow at different times, have different cycles. Where as a few days you may feel everything "looks" long enough, there are more hairs that will be growing and you really want to catch them all.
For that reason I have read 3 weeks is a suitable time. (If you can last that long :rotfl:) but hopefull someone will come along and post who has spoken to a Beauty Therapist and has more info.0 -

I've never got around to having my legs/bikini waxed professionally, so err what does a "hollywood" entail? Is it completely all off or is there a tiny bit left? I wax most down there myself and shave the last little bit, can't imagine how it'd all be waxed off.Living cheap in central London :rotfl:0 -
I epilate my bikini line to a little strip left and shave "underneath". I can't imagine how painful it must be to get your under carriage waxed _pale_0

Hey!
I get a hollywood done. Actually - I have the extended hollywood. That's absolutely everything off (back and front!). I even have to get on all fours to finish the job! Eeek!
I leave it 5 - 6 weeks between waxes but that's because I'm a cheap tart who doesnt want to pay to regularly!
The most painful part of the wax by far is the middle strip at the top. The bit they would leave on for a brazilian - the landing strip. The undercarage is the least painful bit! I think it's because the hairs are thicker and more deep rooted at the top. I take a codeine half an hour before which helps but it really does hurt!
I'm trying a new place next time as the women I go to is £30 for a hollywood and I've seen cheaper. I am also going to try a brazilian next time as I think I'd like a bit of something down there!House saving Targets:
