House sold but not according to website?

Hi there

I called up to view a house I really like the look of some weeks ago and was told there was an offer on the property and no viewings were being conducted. The property is still showing as available on Rightmove and on the For Sale board soe weeks later so I emailed to ask if it was Under Offer. Was assured it is but that they 'are waiting for RightMove to update'. All their other under offer properties are updated pretty much daily, so what's the deal with this one?!

It may just be taking time to update the site or maybe the seller wants it to stay on there until exchange has been done.

The house we offered on and got accepted stayed online as available for a few weeks!

Which would make sense except their other properties all update within days - seems unlikely this one would be taking several weeks! They definitely said it was Rightmove not updating, rather than their vendor wanting it on. Will keep an eye on it.

Rightmove updates every few hours so they are certainly not waiting on Rightmove! (Most agents upload each night though).

The EA could also login to Rightmove Plus and update the status instantly if there really was an issue with their upload.

As above could be a repossession, do any of the photos in the kitchen or bathroom show things with tape all over them? Usually a give away that everything has been turned off.

    Morning

Some agents do keep some houses showing as available so that people will call about them and then be pursuaded to look at others.

...it can also aid in the creation of a 'potential backup' list should the sale subsequently fall through.
