iPad 10W USB Power Adapter US to UK charging

Was planning on buying an iPad as visiting the US next month. However have since found out that the $499 US price is subject to sales tax of 9.5% in San Francisco so its not looking like such a bargain and may well just end up buying in the UK for £429. One question though - if I did buy in the states I would get a 10W USB power adapter which obviously would be the 2 pin US version which would be useless in the UK. What would be the options - still use this but with a travel adaptor (i.e. US 2 pin to UK 3 pin) or have to buy another UK 10W USB Power Adapter at the £25 from Apple?

Worst case scenario, you definitely wouldn't need to spend that much, you can get a dock/charger for half that, and a US>UK stepdown transformer (which you can use for more than just the ipad) for £13.99.

A US to UK transformer would be a "step up" - 110VAC to 240VAC (for the Euro pedants: 230VAC !)

Remember though if you do buy an iPad in the states they won't honour your warranty in the UK.
