Recon engines
Options
Hi,
Quick question, just had a recon engine fitted to my VW transporter, it seems to be running much hotter than the previous engine.
Someone mentioned to me that it may be running hotter while it beds itself in (running in) as everything is new and tight i.e. the valves etc.
Is this true?
I think a couple of new temp senders? were added during installation, could they not be calibrated to the temp gauge on the dash?
Also, conflicting advice on this one so far... does a new/recon engine use a bit of oil for the first few thousand miles? gaskets expanding etc?
Any advice?
Thanks
ps. I have checked coolant etc and all ok
